Description
You can get funding for a research project across any area of MRC's remit to improve human health. You can apply for:predoctoral fellowships – if you are a clinician wanting to undertake a PhD or other higher research degreepostdoctoral fellowships – if you were awarded a PhD some time ago but have not been active in research since, we can help you to reacquire research skills.We expect you to be undertaking your specialty training. You can apply for a fellowship lasting between two and four years but they usually last for three. Funding will cover your salary and related expenses.

This fellowship scheme is open to clinically-active healthcare professionals with a track record of effectively leading their own independent research. It provides support to help you progress to research leadership and become an internationally-recognised leader in your field.The scheme funds a challenging research programme and an ambitious programme of research training, offering accelerated personal and career development.We will fund project costs and up to 50% of your salary with no limit on the amount you can apply for. Your proposal must focus on an area of MRC's scientific remit.

This funding opportunity is open to researchers at eligible organisations including higher education institutions, approved independent research organisations and NHS bodies, and MRC institutes.You can apply for funding to support research to improve research methods being applied by others anywhere within the remit of MRC or the NIHR. We encourage applicants to learn from others where possible, and welcome multidisciplinary teams or approaches.You apply under the normal process for the type of grant. These are:research grantsnew investigator research grantspartnership grants.We will usually fund 80% of the full economic cost of your research to your institution.
