Aims:

1. To improve our understanding of how physical activity may damage joints and lead to osteoarthritis
2. To develop ways of preventing abnormal movement patterns and treating the effects they have on joints
3. To learn more about the mechanisms of how certain sports lead to particular problems with joints
4. To use clinical trials facilities and expertise to test novel nutritional, exercise and surgical interventions
