Intern Scheme update

Centre and value added interns are now three weeks into this year's scheme. These first few weeks have seen them travel to each of the Centre's partner institutions (Nottingham will host the Dissemination Day in mid-August) to see first-hand the research that is undertaken at each of the sites.

The interns have been exposed to a wide vareity of processes and activities - from Functional Movement Screening at Bath to imaging OA using novel MR sequences at Leeds; from neuromechnics of explosive performance for movement control and joint stabilisation at Loughborough to persepctives from the professional dancer at UCL. The visit to Southampton exposed the interns to navigating the publication game and PPI, while staff at Oxford introduced them to health economics and critical review of research papers.

The interns have also benefitted from three sessions on statistics, delivered by the Centre's Statistician Dr Archan Bhattacharya.

The scheme continues for the next five weeks, with the interns undertaking projects at their base institutions. They will all come together on Friday 12 August for the Dissemination Day when they will present their work to members of the Centre.

Pictured below are several of the interns enjoying their new-found friendships in Southampton!
